A Little Update


Hi everyone! It's been a while. Just wanted to let you know I'm still working away at the next version of GB Studio.

Here's a few things that have been implemented in the last few weeks:

  • Work in progress support for Raspberry Pi (I've been using a Pi4), been lots of requests for this one! It's using prerelease builds of GBDK so I might have some minor fixes before this is ready to go.
  •   Override "Color Mode" per scene With the introduction of "Color Only" mode in GB Studio version 4.0.0 you could double the graphics memory at the cost of no longer being able to run your game on original (non-color) GB hardware. Now you can right click on any scene and choose to override the color mode. This allows making full color games that include a warning message when displayed on original GB or you could make games that support all hardware except for a few "Color Only" scenes (think the Color Dungeon in Link's Awakening DX)
  • Disable Color Correction GB Studio by default modifies colors to closer resemble how they would look when running on GB Color hardware, this can cause the colors to look oversaturated in some emulators, now you'll be able to decide for yourself if you'd rather not have this feature in your project settings
