Hi everyone, I have an exciting announcement to make!
I've been spending the last few months working on quality of life improvements to the GB Studio music editor and as part of that process managed to make it work completely from a web browser.
You don't need an account, it works offline, it has support for MIDI input and it can even run on your phone or tablet!
This version of the music editor will be included in the main GB Studio app in the next release but you can try it today at https://music.gbstudio.dev/
Enjoy!

What about base tempo into GB Studio like the one that uses on gb music and what about the bbr image that comes with
And also fix the bug because I saw the left edge when the player touches the edge it will not be able to see OK?
And there's something wrong with the actors because it will not work correctly.
Can you update to 4.2.3?
WHAT HAPPENED TO OPEN FOLDER?
Have you maybe changed web browser? The "Open Folder" feature is only supported in Google Chrome (possibly Microsoft Edge too) at the moment so browsers like Safari and Firefox will just hide that button for now.
CAN CONFIRM, BRAVE BROWSER DOESNT GET FOLDERS, CHROME DOES. TY CM

I THINK I SPEAK FOR ALL DYSLEXICS WHEN I ASK HOW HARD WOULD IT BE TO ADD A TINT TO THE ROWS FOR BLACK KEYS?
That's a good idea, I've just pushed an update so the black keys will have a tinted background :-)
Sir, you are the GOAT

Amazingly awesome!
I appreciate this. I have been wondering if you could make the notes sound more accurate while testing or placing them.
I hadn’t tried the music editor in quite some time and this new one does feel like a huge improvement over what I remember!
One big thing I’d really like to see is the ability to change the keyboard layout in the tracker mode to be more piano-like rather than the chromatic scale mapping that’s currently there, though. Is there any way to change the layout, or any plans to make that possible?
Every tracker I’ve ever used (and I’ve used a lot of them!) lays the note entry keys out like a piano. It makes the flow of composing go really quickly, in my experience.
Also, in the piano roll is there any way to make notes start not exactly on the grid, and have durations other than one grid cell? That’s also pretty fundamental to most music editors, where the grid is more of a snap-to assistance than a rigid set of triggers. I also can’t figure out how to do portamento or arpeggio, but I can understand if those are more complex than what you’re going for in this interface.
Thanks for the feedback I've been working on some improvements since you posted this.

It's now possible to access the keyboard layout for the tracker mode from the menu
Which gives the choice of two different keyboard layouts
As for how to play notes that aren't completely grid aligned, this requires using Effects, e.g to end a note mid way through a cell you would do something like this.
There's a similar effect for Note Delay, which you would put at the same column as the note itself to delay playing that note for however many ticks you want.
The effects feature is also how you add Arpeggio, Portamento and a few other effects.
The software itself is based around the format used in hUGETracker so you can see the documentation for the different effects here https://superdisk.github.io/hUGETracker/hUGETracker/effect-reference.html
Hope this helps,
Chris
Awesome! Thank you for adding this and making such a great piece of software. :)
